Hello chaps,
For the purposes of my dissertation, please take 5 or so minutes to take part
in a little audio/EVP experiment.
* EVP is the technological/paranormal practice of using simplistic or complex
recording equipment to capture 'voices from beyond the grave' blabla. Skeptics claim
that the voices are merely leakage from stray radio frequencies, etc.
Attached is links to 4 mp3s containing alleged EVP recordings. You will be offered
a multiple choice for two of them, and the other two are entirely your own
interpretation. Niether sample is more than a few seconds long.
It is recommended the volume is relatively high, or listened to at a high volume
on headphones.
--------------------
MP3 #1
The EVP is claimed to have been recorded after the medium says the words:
"Do you not want people here?"
You think it is = ?

MP3 #2
Your choices are:
A: It ain't working
B: Hit and worthing
C: Hidden morphine
D: Click and nothing

MP3 #3
Your choices are:
A: Right lack to you
B: Get back dear
C: Gee batch new
D: Your back teeth

MP3 #4
An alleged understandable EVP sample.
You think it is = ?

Please reply in whatever why you want, but please do reply ASAP.
Your time is greatly appreciated - and I will post up everyone the once
they've been quantified.
Kind regards,
D.

Thanks to the people who are PMing their replies
as opposed to posting them. PMs are fine.

You've got until the end of (my) day to get your
thoughts in, okay. Go on! - it'll only take a
minute.

You can stop bombarding me with replies
now, all four of you, because the dissertation
was - finally, thank christicle - finished
and bound this morning.
A poor drizzle of a response, but I'll let
you know what the 'answers' are anyway.
MP3 #1 - The demonic-ish voice is supposed to
be saying: 'Prepare to die!' Nobody came close,
except for Grant who (at least) thought the
first word began with a 'p'.
MP3 #2 - Supposed to be saying 'Hidden morphine'.
Nobody else thought so though.
MP3 #3 - 'Get back dear'. 95% of people thought
so too.
MP3 #4 - Apparently the guy is saying 'Death no
more a casket'
What the test proved, is that, listened to out of
context and not surrounded my influencial pre-
knowledge, it's possible to interpret EVP samples
in all kinds of ways.
